How to Save Canva Files for Screen Printing
IMPORTANT NOTE:
These instructions will only work if your design was created at or near the desired print size on your item. Additionally, all elements within the design must have a resolution of at least 300 DPI to ensure the best print quality.
- Finalize your design: Ensure all edits are complete. Save one version with a transparent background and take a screen shot with your colored background to email us with the art file so we can see if font came through the same. Canva has many of it’s own fonts.
- Download your “PDF Print” File or SVG if you have a pro account
- Click the Share button in the top-right corner, then select Download.
- In the File type dropdown, choose PDF Print or SVG (for pro users).
- Saving as .PNG or .JPEG:
- Canva does not directly support .PNG and .JPEG file exports at 300dpi which is the minimum resolution needed for quality screenprinting. However, you can download your design as a “PDF Print” and we can open it in Photoshop for further editing.
- Saving as .PSD:
- Canva does not directly support .PSD files. However, you can download your design as a “PDF Print” and we can open it in Photoshop for further editing.
- Alternatively, you can recreate your design in Photoshop by exporting elements individually.
